DTEK Grids DSO developed their own mobile app for grids repairs and inspection

DTEK Grids DSO developed their own mobile app for grids repairs and inspection

Energy workers use the “Mobile Crews” app on their service tablets during inspection of the grids and performance of repairs. Via this app, specialists receive tasks, register identified defects and report about completed work.

The first version of the app, launched back in 2021, was developed by subcontractors. However, in order to implement new features faster and promptly adapt them to the crews’ needs, DTEK Grids DSO took app development and maintenance upon themselves.

Energy workers can use the updated version to view equipment data sheets, inspection history and all previously identified defects in real time, locate required sites on the map and build the best routes to them.

“The app allows energy workers not to waste time on filling of various paper forms and on searching for required information thanks to integration of various ІТ systems. According to preliminary estimates, using the software reduces time for restoration of power supply by 10-15%, and time for fulfilment of requests – by up to 30%. We are currently collecting users’ feedback and introducing adjustments into the app, if required. By the end of the year, we plan to launch pilot add-in to enable specialists receive customer requests directly, work with meter data and register provided services on site,” – noted Sharunas Kirlis, COO at DTEK Grids.

Today, “Mobile Crews” app is used by more than 1,600 employees of the DTEK Grids Distribution Systems Operators.
