As part of the environmental and educational project #EnergyWings, DTEK Grids DSO specialists together with ornithologists helped ring 115 white stork chicks. These activities were conducted in Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions in cooperation with the ornithologists of the Danube Biosphere Reserve within the framework of the #EnergyWings project. In the first half of the year, energy workers also installed 112 platforms for stork nests.

The system of separate collection of waste continues to be further developed at the DTEK Grids enterprises. Currently, more than 2,000 containers for separate collection of distinct types of waste have been installed at the industrial sites and in the offices of the company.

Over the course of six months, DTEK Grids DSO sent a total of more than 777 tons of waste for recycling – scrap metal, tires, used oil products, accumulator batteries, and wastepaper, as well as for reuse – 483 tons of reinforced concrete poles.

Energy workers continued supporting the “Precious Plastic” project. In the first half of the year, energy workers collected and sent 214 kg of plastic caps for recycling. Some plastic was handed over to volunteers, who direct the funds from its recycling at supporting Ukrainian defenders. Since the start of their participation in the project, employees of DTEK Grids DSO have already sent a total of 1,110 kg of plastic for recycling. Thus, the company is implementing principles of circular economy within the framework of the ESG strategy, recycling waste back into use and reducing the environmental impact.

DTEK Grids continues to integrate eco principles into all aspects of its activities, combining development of the energy infrastructure with responsible attitude towards the environment and support of environmental initiatives.
