The summary of the 2024-2025 autumn-winter period: energy workers of DTEK Dnipro Grids eliminated almost 5,700 emergencies
Despite the threats and enemy attacks, energy workers did everything to go through the season without blackouts. During the heating period, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists eliminated 5,681 emergencies, 579 of which were caused by missile, artillery or drone attacks. The company restored power supply to 1 mln customers, left without electricity due to the shelling. 250 crews of energy workers worked on repairs daily.
“Despite the threats, the heating season went smoothly. In part due to the preparations, carried out by the energy workers. Before the winter, we renewed more than 1,300 km of lines and upgraded 1,184 facilities, thus improving reliability of the energy infrastructure,” – noted DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk.
During the autumn-winter period in the Dnipropetrovsk region, in accordance with the NPC Ukrenergo command, emergency power shutdowns were applied 32 times, stabilization schedules were in force for 49 days. The minimum number of outages is a result of the coordinated work of all Ukrainian energy workers and the AFU with warm winter helping.
Last year, the company updated schedules of stabilization shutdowns in the event of electricity shortage. They are now similar throughout the country with 30-minute intervals for switching and ensuring at least 3.5 hours with electricity. This allows for more flexible balancing of the energy system, and more accurate planning of the day by the customers. The up-to-date schedules are available on the DTEK Dnipro Grids website and will be applied in case of a corresponding NPC Ukrenergo command.
To communicate with the customers, the company maintains its remote channels — Viber and Telegram chatbots, website and contact center.
DTEK Dnipro Grids is already preparing for the next winter — planning repairs and upgrade of more than 5,000 km of lines and 3,200 power facilities. This is more than three times more than last year. In particular, energy workers are reconstructing substations in Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro.
The company will further work to provide Ukrainians with electricity even under shelling. Meanwhile, it urges residents of the region to consume electricity rationally: reschedule consumption for the daytime during the sunny days, install multi-zone meters, transfer to LED lighting, select energy efficient appliances, avoid excessive cooling or heating, turn off lights in empty premises and not to turn on several energy-consuming appliances simultaneously.
