Improving energy stability: almost 3,000 new green and distributed power generation facilities were connected to the grids of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids in 2025
2,804 green and distributed generation facilities were connected in 2025. Another 218 customers of DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids gained the status of active consumers – i.e. they not only have installations for their own use, but they also sell the excess of the produced electricity to the energy system.
Solar Power Plants remain the most popular among business customers. In 2025, energy workers connected 13 SPPs, as well as 10 gas engine generator sets, gas turbine power plants and cogeneration installations and 4 electricity storage installations, thus allowing enterprises to partially cover their own electricity needs and maintain stable operation even during the periods of limitations.
The prosumers* segment is actively expanding too, although, through solar stations only so far. In 2025, household customers connected 2,779 facilities.
Since the beginning of business activities in the Kyiv region, a total of more than 8,661 green generation facilities have been connected to the grids.
“We see that both businesses and households are investing in their own generation more and more actively. For us it is important to provide them with fast and understandable connection to the grids. Every new distributed or green generation facility improves energy stability of the region. Over the course of the year, number of such connections in our grids has increased significantly – to almost three thousand. This means more energy autonomy for communities and businesses,” — noted DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids CEO Vitalii Shaida.
Despite war challenges and concentration of resources on restoration of damaged equipment, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids continue to modernize the grids and create technical conditions for the development of distributed and green generation.
