Electricity restored to more than 16,000 families: DTEK continues to restore power in the Donetsk region

On August 4, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews were able to access a number of damaged equipment and grids and repair them, thus again restoring electricity to homes of residents of 19 settlements that suffer from constant or periodic shelling. Electricity was restored to 16,593 families in Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Volnovakha and Pokrovsk districts.

Most restorations were in the Toretsk community. Just yesterday, energy workers have restored electricity to more than 12,000 households here. Let us recall that Toretsk community is located near the buffer zone and constantly suffers from shelling, missile and air strikes. Over the past week only, specialists of the energy company were working every day to restore electricity in this community that was being de-energized again and again due to hostilities. Over the course of a week, energy workers managed to restore electricity to more than 48,000 residents of Toretsk community (cumulative total). Of course, Toretsk community is not the only community of the region that suffers from massive shelling. Almost all communities of the region suffer from consequences of hostilities that destroy grids and electrical equipment. For instance, yesterday DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists, with permission of the military, were also able to restore electricity to 1,200 families in Sloviansk community, 1,100 families in Bakhmut community and 1,200 families in Avdiivka community. Energy workers were also working in Marinka, Kostiantynivka and Velyka Novosilka communities.

Hostilities are underway in the Donetsk region. Nevertheless, energy workers are doing everything possible to promptly restore power once they obtain a permit from the military.

The most difficult directions are Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 163 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
