Students of NAU will be able to study and work in DTEK Kyiv Grids via the dual form of education
The cooperation agreement was signed by the CEO of DTEK Kyiv Grids Denys Bondar and acting rector of the National Aviation University Kseniia Semenova. The event took place on May 21 in DTEK Academy, in the presence of students and teachers of the higher educational institution of the capital.
“Bringing the youth to our enterprise is one of our priorities. They are the moving force of changes in the energy industry and its development. That is why we expand the number of educational institutions that we cooperate with. As we will need not only to restore what was destroyed by the enemy, but also create a new energy infrastructure – a foundation for recovery of Ukraine and economy,” – Denys Bondar commented signing of an agreement with NAU.
Under the conditions of cooperation, starting from the new academic year students of energy-related specialties at NAU will be able to join the dual education programs, active in the company. Students of senior years of study at profession-oriented specialties will combine studying at NAU and industrial practice in DTEK Kyiv Grids. After the interview, an agreement will be made with all those who are willing for them to receive salary and full social package (vacation, medical insurance, sick leave). After successful completion of dual education, they will be offered to become a part of DTEK team.
“I would like to thank our new partners. Our students work in DTEK. Now, the university will interact more closely with you in joint educational programs, both in internships and in dual education. On behalf of the university, I am very grateful that DTEK Kyiv Grids begins to work with us. I believe that our further cooperation will be very good,” – noted Kseniia Semenova.
Before signing an agreement, NAU students visited one of the most sophisticated high-voltage substations of the capital. They observed with their own eyes the work of energy equipment that provides electricity to the central districts of the city of Kyiv. The students also took an introductory tour of DTEK Academy. They visited classrooms and lecture halls, attempting to take the equipment of power substation out for repair using VR-simulator, in particular.
“DTEK Kyiv Grids gave me an opportunity to fulfil myself in the area that I studied. The scale of the company itself, people and approach to work played a key role in my development as a specialist and, later, as a manager. Here, you are constantly learning on the tasks that you deal with, on the development programs in DTEK Academy. You get a competitive level of wages,” – Vitalii Bozhenko, former student of NAU, and current head of the grids data management division at DTEK Kyiv Grids shared the story of his success.
DTEK Kyiv Grids launched “Dual Education” project in 2019. Over the course of 6 years, more than 70 students have completed education under the program. 76% of them (53 students) got a permanent job in the company. Apart from NAU, another five higher education institutions take part in the project: National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, National University of Food Technologies, Kyiv Electromechanical Vocational College and Kyiv Energy Vocational College.
