Is the display board of the meter “lying”? DTEK Grids explains how to verify it and avoid extra costs

If you started to doubt the readings on the display board, and the amount in the electricity bill is larger than usually, it may be a reason to perform meter verification. You can order this service in a few clicks on the website of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operator, operating in your region.

The meter is a primary tool for metering of the consumed electricity. It’s improper functioning may impact your bills.

You did not change your domestic habits, nor did you buy any new appliances, but the meter started to charge significantly more than usually? This is a reason to check if the device is ok. To do that, please:

1) Turn off all electrical appliances in your home and take a look if the meter continued to count kWh (disc is rotating or the digits on the board are changing).

2) If the meter continues to count kWh, please order the meter inspection. The specialists will temporarily install another electricity metering device for the period of inspection. To do that, please go to the section “Meter Services” of your DSO:

3) If the indicator lightsAttention”, “ReverseorEarthon the display of your meter are on or if the Т4 zone appeared, we recommend placing a technical verification request in the same section.

After receiving the request, our specialists will form an invoice depending on the features of your electrical installation.

The basis for correct electricity bills is accurate volumes of electricity consumption. And this can be achieved only providing the correct operation of the meter and timely submission of readings to the energy company.
