Maksym Tanitkovksyi, electrician of the high voltage grids fast-response field crew, prevented the survived transformer from catching fire after an enemy attack on one of the substations in Odesa, thus providing an opportunity for faster restoration of power supply to critical infrastructure facilities and customers’ homes. Andrii Stupnytskyi, senior foreman, took part in emergency and restoration activities after shelling of the region’s energy infrastructure on multiple occasions. For their dedication to the cause and for providing Ukrainians with electricity, energy workers were awarded the medal “For Courage”, ІІІ degree.

“The first shelling of the energy industry in 2022 occurred on my watch. Me and the crew were the first ones to come to the site after an air alert stand-down, I saw the destruction with my own eyes. These were the hardest 24 hours. Since then, we have survived multiple attacks. Now, we reject emotions every time, we use our experience and knowledge to estimate the work plan, evaluate the scope. We primarily work with the emergency service to let them fight fires, and with dispatchers to re-energize the customers. Our work may not be visible at once but it is critically important. And this award is not only my recognition, but recognition of the entire professional team of energy workers,” – told Maksym Tanitovskyi, electrician of the high voltage grids fast-response field crew at DTEK Odesa Grids.

Additionally, driver Rudolf Hart was awarded the “Order of Merit”, ІІІ degree. He ensures delivery of large freights needed for repairs at the power facilities after enemy strikes.

These awards are a great honor for DTEK Odesa Grids and a recognition of the daily work of all energy workers, who make every effort to restore electricity to the people. We are proud of everyone! Keep it up!
