DTEK Grids DSO restored electricity to almost 3 mln homes after shelling in October

Thermal power generation03 November 2025
Last month, the enemy continued to attack peaceful towns and villages on almost a daily basis. Despite all security challenges and difficulties of wartime, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators managed to completely or partially restore electricity to residents of more than 2,000 settlements, thus restoring power supply to almost 3 mln homes of Ukrainians*, de-energized due to the strikes in four regions and in the capital. Energy workers commence repairs of the grids as soon as possible once they obtain permission from the AFU and SES.

Last month, energy workers continued to work on grids and equipment repairs both in the frontline and in the more distant regions of the company’s presence. In the Donetsk region, they managed to restore electricity to 832,600 homes of local residents in October. Due to heavy fighting in the region and constant large-scale enemy strikes, energy workers have been re-restoring electricity to the majority of settlements on multiple occasions. And though restoring power supply in the region becomes increasingly difficult and dangerous, energy workers continue to work once the situation and the military permit.

The enemy does not stop attacking the capital, too. Constant enemy strikes cause power outages. In particular, specialists of the energy company restored electricity to 803,500 homes of Kyivans in October.

Other regions suffered no less from enemy attacks. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, where shelling has intensified due to the proximity to the frontline, energy workers managed to restore power to almost 800,000 homes of local residents last month.

At the same time, energy workers restored electricity to 456,900 families in the Odesa region and almost 70,000 families in the Kyiv region.

“Despite the intensification of enemy attacks on Ukraine in October, and on power facilities in particular, our specialists continue to hold the energy front. We are doing everything possible, and sometimes impossible, to provide residents and critical infrastructure with electricity as much as possible in the conditions of regular attacks. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have already restored electricity to 24.7* million families in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, as well as in the capital and we continue to fight for light in the homes of Ukrainians,” – noted Alina BondarenkoCEO at DTEK Grids

Company’s specialists continue to work together with AFU and SES in the regions of fiercest hostilities and restore operation of the grids immediately after obtaining permission from them.

considering that some customers had electricity restored to them on dozens of occasions.
