Energy workers were performing restoration activities in the frontline town of the Dnipropetrovsk region after latest shelling. During repairs, one of the DTEK Dnipro Grids electricians, who was in the aerial platform bucket, spotted a drone in the sky quickly approaching the crew. The energy worker informed his colleagues and all members of the crew promptly left the worksite and found shelter in the basement of the nearest private house. The drone hit the crew vehicle and exploded. Thanks to the prompt actions of the crew, no one got hurt, however, the vehicle suffered significant damage: the cab and the boom of the aerial platform were destroyed. Energy workers were evacuated by another vehicle and taken to safety.

Russian invaders regularly attack vehicles of DTEK Dnipro Grids emergency crews in the Dnipropetrovsk region during repairs near the area of hostilities. In the last few months alone, there were several such incidents.

The company works in accordance with the special works authorization procedure in order to keep its employees as safe as possible. Emergency crews commence grid repairs only after obtaining permission from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. Additionally, energy workers are working in special hardhats and bullet-proof vests. However, the enemy does not stop attacking the region, thus often leaving the emergency crew with no time to get to safety.

Nevertheless, energy workers of the Dnipropetrovsk region continue to work, often risking their lives to provide residents of the region with electricity
