How to know that your meter calculates consumed electricity incorrectly? – answers DTEK Dnipro Grids

There may be different causes of meter malfunctioning: mechanical damage, factory defect, loose contacts, physical wear, etc.

Malfunctioning of the meter does not cause suspension of power supply, but it may cause errors in calculation of consumed electricity. There may be other malfunctions, which may be identified by visual features:

  •             The burnt body of the meter
  •             The calculating mechanism of the meter stopped running (calculation of kWh)
  •             The meter display shows ERROR or other incomprehensible symbols
  •             Incorrect display of date/time

We ask you not to try repairing the meter on your own. It may be life-threatening and cause more malfunctions. Energy workers of DTEK Dnipro Grids will carry our required works with your meter free of charge. This and other services are available on our website, so go to the section “Services for meters and follow simple instructions.

It is important to notice and notify about malfunctioning of the meter as soon as possible, therefore we recommend troubleshooting your device from time to time. This way, you will avoid incorrect calculation of your electricity consumption.
