Young footballers from Bilohorodka are the champions of the “Let’s Play!” tournament
A team from Bilohorodka, Kyiv region became tournament’s champion. Second place was won by young sportsmen from Sheptytskyi, third — from Lviv.
“Thank you DTEK and Shakhtar Social for caring about sport future of Ukraine. The “Let’s Play!” social initiative provided children from various regions with an opportunity to train at the modern sports grounds and decently prepare for the tournament. Victory is a great joy for us, but the most important thing is that children gained experience and faith in their own strength. I am sure: among these boys and girls there are the ones that one day will take our national team to the final of the international cups,” — noted Volodymyr Polishchuk, Bilohorodka team’s coach.
Last year, DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids together with Shakhtar Social and local authorities of the Kyiv region opened a modern football pitch in Bilohorodka. Currently, 50 children aged 10-12 are training here under the methodology of FC Shakhtar. And this training already gives results – a Viktory of the Bilohorodka team in the “Let’s Play!” tournament.
“As a football fan, I am happy that partnership of DTEK, Shakhtar Social and communities helps children make first steps to their dream. Training is not only about skills and goals, but it is also about lessons in friendship, teamplay and endurance. We have already created a modern space for sports in the Kyiv region and we plan to open another sports ground, soon,” — underscored Vitalii Shaida, CEO at DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids.
“Let’s Play!” is the largest social project, directed at development of children amateur football in Ukraine. It has been ongoing since 2018 and is directed at forming children’s habit of going in for sports, educating universal human values, providing physical and psychological support during the war.
Today, it unites over 1,300 children from football classes in 27 settlements of Ukraine. 27 upgraded sports grounds have already become a starting arena for the future champions.
