On July 1, Ukraine made a transition to 230 V. What will change for all of us, – DTEK Dnipro Grids explains

On July 1, 2025, the entire country made a transition to the new voltage standard 230 V. This decision was approved by the state regulator NEURC. For over 3 years, our energy system has been working in synch with the European one, and the change of the standard is the next logical step to transition to the technical standards, common with the EU. DTEK Dnipro Grids has long been ready to work with 230 V and notes that Ukrainians will barely notice these changes.

Every year, DTEK Dnipro Grids upgrades and modernizes its energy equipment. Thus, the grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region are ready to work with new voltage standard.

The only change that Ukrainian consumers will see is a new permissible deviation of voltage from 207 V to 253 V (±10 % of 230 V). Therefore, we recommend considering new parameters when setting up the voltage relay in your home, providing you are using one. However, the appliances have long been designed to work in this specific range.

If you see voltage constantly falling below 207 V or rising above 253 V, you may submit a request to DTEK Dnipro Grids to check the quality of voltage. To do that, selectProblems with Electricity Qualityin the “Possible Disconnections” section of the Viber and Telegram chatbot menu.

Let us remind that smart consumption is the best help to the energy system. Do not turn on several electrical appliances at once, use powerful appliances from 10:00 to 18:00 in sunny days.
