Over the course of the day, DTEK Donetsk Grids was able to restore power to 6 settlements, de-energized due to shelling

Over the course of the day, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists managed to eliminate a number of damages and restore power to 6 settlements, thus restoring electricity to homes of 1,600 families in the Donetsk region. Energy workers commence repairs of grids once the shelling subsides and the military provide access to the site of work performance.

On January 15, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews were able to completely or partially restore electricity to 6 settlements, affected by active hostilities, thus restoring power to 1,645 families. 

Heavy fighting is ongoing in the Donetsk region. According to the Donetsk RMA, settlements of the Donetsk region were shelled 23 times over the course of the day. In particular, Kurakhove community was shelled three times. 

Active shelling in the Donetsk region constantly damage grids and equipment. Specialists of the energy company do not always have access to the work sites due to the security situation in the region. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 692 days in a row and repair equipment and lines once it becomes possible. More than 60 crews of the energy company are working daily on restorations in the region.
