For tenacity and professionalism: DTEK Dnipro Grids employee was awarded the title “Honored Energy Worker of Ukraine”
On the Energy Worker Day, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met the industry workers and honored them with state awards. Among them was an energy worker from Dnipropetrovsk region Serhii Hershun.
He received the State Award for significant contribution to developing and ensuring operation of the energy complex in the conditions of martial law, for his personal courage and dedication during elimination of the consequences of emergencies at the energy infrastructure facilities, as well as for faithful fulfilment of professional duty.
Serhii has over 30 years of service in the energy industry. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, he has been ensuring uninterrupted operation of high voltage lines and substations in the frontline communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region. He restored power supply in Zelenodolsk, Nikopol, Marhanets and adjacent territories close to the combat zone. In 2025, he organized elimination of consequences of enemy attacks on electric power facilities in Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol districts on multiple occasions, directly supervising restoration of the 150 kV substations after the strikes.
“Serhii Hershun is an example of responsible leadership, professional tenacity and dedication to the cause, and his work is of major importance for the energy resilience of the region in the conditions of war,” – noted DTEK Dnipro Grids.
Company’s specialists continue to work in the frontline districts, doing everything possible to provide residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region with stable power supply even in the most difficult conditions of unprecedented attacks on the country’s energy sector.
