DTEK has restored electricity to 77,000 families in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions over the course of a week
Over the past week (December 5 through 11), specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators have restored operation of grids, damaged due to hostilities, for 77,000 families in 80 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Most of these settlements regularly suffer from russia’s shelling, so energy workers have to regularly restore electricity to them.
“Despite shelling and difficult situation with hostilities, specialists of the DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators continue to repair grids upon permission of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and SES. Since February 24, we managed to restore electricity to 5.9 mln families in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions, as well as in the city of Kyiv. A lot of these families had power supply restored to them at least 5 times due to regular shelling,” – notes DTEK Grids CEO Oleksandr Fomenko.
Nevertheless, power cutoffs continue to take place due to 8 massive rf’s attacks on the energy infrastructure of Ukraine. Starting from December 9, DTEK Kyiv Grids has introduced updated schedules of stabilization shutdowns that take into account current difficult situation in the energy system after recent massive attacks. Previous schedules are no longer valid. An updated schedule of electricity supply is available on the company’s website.
DTEK Grids Distribution System Operators are already working to update schedules in Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions.
