If your meter is installed outside of your home, for example on the pole, it requires additional protection from damage or intrusion. A special box plays this role. Therefore, it is important to take care of the box, as the operability of the meter depends on it. You can place a box replacement request on the DTEK Dnipro Grids website.
A meter box is a protective casing, where an electricity meter is installed. It protects the meter from precipitations, dust, mechanical damage and unauthorized access.
Please note that not all devices require a box. If your meter is installed in the apartment or inside the protected cabinet in the building – the box is not required.
When is the meter box replacement required and how to order it on our website?
- The box is damaged (cracks, broken mounting, damage of the seal or box cover) – click “Meter sealing”, select “Meter sealing after an emergency” and state what exactly happened in the note.
- Tracks of short circuits appeared inside the box (melted plastic, burned wires, etc.) – click “Problems with meter operation”, select “The meter melted or burned down” and state what exactly happened in the note.
- Meter readings are not visible through the opening – click “Problems with the box or circuit breaker” and select “The readings are not visible”.
