DTEK Dnipro Grids employees removed 54 tons of waste, joining the world-wide event World Cleanup Day 2025. Energy workers cleaned over 41,000 m2 of territory near substations, distribution points and offices of the company in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

As part of the World Cleanup Day that unites over 210 countries every year in the fight against environmental contamination and pollution, employees of DTEK Dnipro Grids carried out a large-scale cleaning of the territories near the critical infrastructure facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The support of this global initiative complies with DTEK’s Sustainable Development Strategy and UN Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals in Ukraine.

In September 2025, energy workers cleaned over 41,000 square meters of territories near substations, distribution points and offices of the company, while collecting and removing 54 tons of household and other waste. 1,100 employees joined the event, underscoring high environmental awareness and responsibility of the team.

“Caring about the environment is our conscious choice even in such difficult times. Every day, war not only leaves its mark on human fates but also destroys nature. But we do not wait for better conditions to act. By joining the World Cleanup Day, we show that each and every one of us can contribute to a clean future. When the team unites around a common cause – this is a true responsibility,” — stressed Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO at DTEK Dnipro Grids.

World Cleanup Day 2025 in Ukraine was traditionally organized by the eco movement “Let’s Do It Ukraine”, which is a part of the Global Movement “Let’s Do It World”. This initiative has already united 114 million people in 211 countries, who make joint efforts to clean the planet from solid household waste. Such events not only improve the state of the environment but also form ecoculture and increase awareness about sustainable development.
