Electricity is restored to 58,000 families: DTEK restored power to 73 settlements in a week

Over the course a week, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists have completely or partially restored electricity to residents of 73 settlements in the Donetsk region. Some of these settlements required restoration of electricity on multiple occasions due to constant damage of power equipment, caused by active hostilities. Thus, energy workers have restored power to homes of more than 58,000 families. Energy company’s specialists continue to restore power as soon as it becomes possible.

Extremely difficult situation remains in the Donetsk region. Nevertheless, DTEK Donetsk Grids emergency and repair crews managed to restore service to 73 settlements last week, thus restoring electricity to 58,107 families in the Donetsk region.

For example, energy workers have repaired equipment and lines in 11 settlements on May 22, thus allowing restoration of power to 11,721 families in Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts. Majority – in the Bakhmut district.

282 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult situation is near Lyman, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk, Bakhmut and Velyka Novosilka, where constant shelling frequently damages electrical equipment and power transmission lines. Company’s specialists are waiting for the permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to perform repairs.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 89 days in a row and are doing everything possible in order to promptly restore power to settlements, affected by hostilities.
