According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Hydrometeorological Center, on August 21-22 the level of fire hazard in the Dnipropetrovsk region will be high (class IV) and in some places extremely high (class V). DTEK Dnipro Grids urges residents of the region to be extremely careful and gave 5 tips on electrical safety near power equipment.

Hot weather significantly increases the risk of fires and conflagrations. The company asks residents of the region to be extremely careful and cautious, refrain from starting a fire under power lines and not to interfere with the operation of power equipment. Beyond the risk to health and life, it can cause large-scale fires, damage to the grid and shutdown of entire settlements and enterprises.

DTEK Dnipro Grids continues to develop infrastructure of the grids using sophisticated digital technologies and based on the sustainable development principles in order to ensure safety of its customers and improve quality of services.

The company reminds of 5 simple electrical safety rules that can protect residents of the region from potential hazard:

  • it is strictly forbidden to start a fire, burn deadwood, leave flammable materials, and put garbage near power lines and transformer substations;
  • do not approach switchboards, transformers, and other power equipment, and do not try to interfere with their operation;
  • avoid staying near power lines during strong wind. If you discover a broken wire, please stay 8-12 meters away;
  • in case of blackouts, do not try to perform repair by yourself. If a blackout happened in an apartment or house – call an electrician, servicing your house. If there is a blackout at the entire street – contact DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists;
  • if you discovered fallen, broken or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of the power installations, please do not approach them and inform the company;

Please use any convenient way to inform about any emergency on the grids. We recommend using the following online services:
