The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine predicts a difficult 2022-2023 heating season. Implementation of a repair program is a DTEK Kyiv Grids contribution to a stable cold season. Company’s specialists have already conducted over 300 repairs of power lines. Such measures increase reliability and sustainability of the city’s power grid and reduce its accident rate.

“DTEK Group is a responsible business, partner of society and state. We consistently implement a program of scheduled repairs to improve reliability of the grid and prepare the city to the autumn-winter period. This year, we will upgrade over 600 transformer and distribution points. We will also repair 14 large high-voltage substations that power over 3,000 high-rise buildings in the capital and almost 6,000 private houses. It is a big job for company’s energy workers and our contribution to the stable 2022-2023 autumn-winter period,” – noted DTEK Kyiv Grids.

Besides, company’s specialists will clear about 150 km of overhead lines from green spaces. It will reduce grids breakdowns, especially in the private houses districts, such as Osokorky and Bortnychi.

DTEK Kyiv Grids will inspect 150 critical infrastructure facilities of the city – hospitals, schools, kindergartens, thermal power facilities and housing and communal services facilities in order to ensure its reliable power supply and normal operation despite the situation in the country.

In particular, they will repair 55 power lines that power thermal power facilities of the city (boiler rooms, heat points, etc.) – 14 upgrades have already been completed. Additionally, the company will repair 24 lines that power schools and kindergartens of the city.

Besides, specialists have already inspected power equipment (backup diesel generators and power circuits) in 71 hospitals of the capital and provided them with corresponding prescriptions and recommendations for improvement.

DTEK Kyiv Grids calls on service companies to take a responsible attitude to the preparation of capital’s high-rise buildings for winter. They are the ones responsible for condition of intra-house networks of the high-rise buildings. Before the beginning of the autumn-winter period, housing offices, condominiums and managing companies should inspect their equipment, conduct required maintenance and eliminate malfunctions in order to ensure reliable power supply of buildings.
