DTEK Dnipro Grids continues its “Dual education” project: a new recruitment of students has been announced

DTEK Dnipro Grids continues its project of “Dual education” for students, who plan to connect their life with the energy industry. The company did not suspend the project even with the beginning of a full-scale war and announces a new recruitment for the 2022-2023 academic year. Participation in the project will allow senior students of technical higher education institutions of the Dnipropetrovsk region to combine study with practice at the enterprise on the terms of official employment.

Despite the war, DTEK continues to develop grids infrastructure using modern digital technologies and based on the sustainable development principles. Among other things, the company did not suspend implementation of initiatives related to support of society and economy of the country, like “Dual education” project. 

“Via the “Dual education” project that we have been implementing for five years now we provide the youth with opportunities for vocational education, employment and decent salary. We understand that such projects support Ukrainian society, especially now. And that a talented youth is the future of our country after the war. Especially energy workers, who will be restoring and developing energy infrastructure of our country, thus will carry on their shoulders all main areas of functioning and life of the country. In the next academic year, we plan to involve 10 students in the project,” – informed DTEK Dnipro Grids. 

In order to participate in the selection for the DTEK Dnipro Grids “Dual education” project, the students must: 

  • be at the 3-4 year of study in the specialty 141 “Electric power industry, electric engineering and electromechanics”; 
  • be 18 years old; 
  • have no medical contradictions; 
  • be successful in their study; 
  • have a positive feedback-characteristic from the higher education institution; 
  • be ready to combine work and study;

The selected students will study according to an individual schedule: 60% of time is theory and 40 % is practical training with a mentor at the enterprise. The participants will be officially employed with a full social package. 

DTEK Dnipro Grids has been practicing such form of practical training with technical institutes since 2019. During this time, 88 dual students completed training at the enterprise. 45 of them stayed to work in the company after completion of the project.
