DTEK Donetsk Grids brings back light: electricity restored to more than 5,000 families in the Donetsk region

On October 5, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists were able to restore electricity to residents of 9 settlements in Pokrovsk, Bakhmut, Kramatorsk and Volnovakha districts, thus restoring power to homes of more than 5,000 families. Specialists of the energy company are doing their best to promptly restore power once the military prove a permit in order to support residents of the region in this difficult situation.

Despite shelling, DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists were able to completely or partially restore operation of a number of equipment, damaged due to hostilities, and restore power to 9 settlements in Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Volnovakha and Pokrovsk districts of the Donetsk region, thus restoring electricity to 5,393 families.

Despite the difficult situation with constant shelling, yesterday energy workers have obtained a permit from the military and restored electricity to more than 2,000 families in Marinka community and 1,700 families in Toretsk community. Additionally, electricity was restored to more than 700 families in Bakhmut community and more than 400 families in Sloviansk community. Energy workers also managed to perform a number of activities in Velyka Novosilka community.

Active hostilities are underway. Ongoing shelling continues to damage electrical infrastructure of the region. 87 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult directions are Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Toretsk, Marinka and Lyman. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
