DTEK Grids established a Digital Transformation Office

DTEK Grids established a Digital Transformation Office, which consults DTEK’s Distribution Systems Operators (DSO) about development of AI and digital customer services. DTEK Grids DSO have already begun to pilot the first AI-based solutions.
DTEK Grids established a Digital Transformation Office

Digital Transformation Office is an advisory body that helps DTEK Grids DSO develop innovative projects, implement AI solutions and upscale successful digital products and services. Distribution Systems Operators are already working in several areas of Artificial Intelligence application: AI Assistant, AI Recognition and AI Prediction.

“DSO already have a major portfolio of digital projects, and we see high potential in using Artificial Intelligence. Establishment of the Digital Transformation Office will make it possible to faster implement innovations, ensure their interaction and upscale the best solutions,” – noted DTEK Grids Customer Relations Director Ruslan Volynets.

Among the first projects is an AI Voice Bot, which will provide an opportunity for the customers to submit meter readings and receive the most up-to-date information about power outages without engaging the contact centre’s operator. The project is already undergoing preparation for the pilot launch and is to be tested by the end of 2026. Additionally, АІ Assistant should combine information from IT systems, knowledge bases, and guidelines in one interface to help specialists faster provide informative consultations for the customers.

In parallel, DSO are developing an AI solution for automatic recognition of meter readings on photos. This will allow customers to submit data via digital channels quickly and accurately, while the specialists will receive verified information for calculations.

Another promising field of work at the stage of study is application of AI and machine learning technology for prediction and analytics in the energy industry, to improve efficiency of operational processes in particular.
