DTEK continues to repair the grids: electricity was restored to almost 12,000 households in the Donetsk region

On August 15, despite shelling DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists were able to completely or partially restore power to 18 settlements of the region, thus restoring electricity to 11,863 households in Kramatorsk, Pokrovsk and Bakhmut districts.

Energy workers were able to perform most of the restorations in Bakhmut district. They managed to restore electricity to more than 6,000 families in a constantly shelled Toretsk community, where energy workers manage to perform restorations almost every day, as hostilities destroy the grids every day as well. Electricity was also restored to more than 2,000 families in Bakhmut community, where shelling does not stop either. According to the head of the region Pavlo Kyrylenko, Bakhmut direction is one of the hardest. Nevertheless, energy workers, with the permission of the military, were able to carry out a number of restoration activities there.

Additionally, electricity was once again restored to a number of households in Avdiivka, Kostiantynivka, Marinka, Sloviansk and Dobropillia communities that suffer from hostilities as well.

The situation remains extremely difficult in the Donetsk region. Massive shelling continues to destroy electrical infrastructure of the region. 106 settlements remain without electricity, as energy workers do not have a permit for work performance from the military and are unable to work there. The most difficult directions are Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers will definitely restore electricity to all residents of the region once they obtain a permit for work performance from the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 174 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
