DTEK will install over 70,000 smart meters for residents of Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region in 2023

DTEK Dnipro Grids continues installation of smart meters in customers’ homes. New meters are multi-zone and allow saving money on electricity consumption during nighttime. By the end of the year, such automated systems should be installed in homes of 70,000 residents of Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region. Energy workers ask to grant company’s employees access to the houses and apartments to carry out replacement of meters.

DTEK Dnipro Grids installs new meters within the NERC-approved investment program. Such meters automatically submit electricity consumption readings. Moreover, they have a feature of day and night electricity usage metering that allows reducing electricity cost due to the lower night tariff*. The meters are being installed in the areas, included in the automation program. In 2023, it is planned to install over 70,000 new meters for the residents of Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and Kamianske.

“Despite the difficult situation, in 2023 we continue installation of smart meters for the residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region. We are now working in Dnipro, where we will install over 60,000 such appliances this year. In March, we start replacing meters in other towns as well – in Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih and Tsarychanka districts. Replacement of meters does not involve any additional customer’s expenses. The main request is to provide access to meters for prompt replacement,” states the company

Before conducting replacement, specialists notify residents in advance. They place notices on the houses, indicating date of work performance and contact telephone numbers of the responsible employee of the company, carry out additional notification of consumers by phone to schedule a convenient time of replacement. To perform installation, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists are to be let in the premise (if the meter is located in the apartment).

Works are conducted by employees, wearing yellow-grey company’s overalls with a company logo. Electricians must present corresponding ID upon customer’s request.

You can verify if your address was included in this year’s schedule of free meters installation by contacting the company’s contact center via remote service channels: social networks, contact center +38 (056/066/067/063) 790-99-00, 0-800-301-497, website, Viber and Telegram chatbots.

DTEK specialists are working 24/7 to ensure reliable power supply of houses and enterprises. In case of shelling, the workers are provided with everything needed for prompt restoration of power to the settlements, affected by hostilities.

*Smart meters allow enjoying benefits of a night electricity tariff at the customers’ request. Its terms are available at the NERC website.
