Since the beginning of the year, DTEK protected more than 1,500 kilometers of overhead lines in the Dnipropetrovsk region from power outages

In 2023, DTEK Dnipro Grids will clear over 3,300 km of overhead power lines from branches and deadwood. It is mainly required for tree branches not to cause damage to the power lines, when, for example, they fall on the wires during bad weather.

“DTEK Grids is a responsible business, foundation and support for normal life of our customers. Clearing of power lines’ routes from dry branches and deadwood helps us increase reliability of power supply. This especially applies to detached house suburbs that get electricity by overhead power lines. In particular, such areas as Novomoskovsk, Petropavlivka and Pavlohrad sections, detached house suburbs of Dnipro, etc.,”noted the company.

DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists conduct scheduled pruning of trees that grow exclusively in the protected area of the overhead power lines. The company emphasizes that customers must also take care of clearing routes from tree branches and undergrowth. According to the Rules of grids protection, owners of green spaces and land users are the ones responsible for its preservation and proper care.

Residents of detached house suburbs should personally timely prune trees and shrubs in their yards and household plots. On unmanaged territories and wastelands, it is done by local authorities.

If the branches are too close to the wires and if there is a threat of emergency, please inform DTEK Dnipro Grids via user account, social networks, contact center +38 (056/066/067/063) 790-99-00, Viber and Telegram chatbots.
