DTEK upgraded over 170 power facilities and 1,500 km of lines in the Dnipropetrovsk region in order to prepare the grids for winter
Preparation for the upcoming winter is ongoing in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Headed by the regional government, all services are preparing the infrastructure for all possible challenges in order to ensure that residents of the region will have access to the essential services, as well as to electricity and heating.
“We have survived a hard winter last year. Understanding the threats from russian terrorists, we have been thoroughly preparing for this season as well. We paid maximum attention to the protection of critical infrastructure. Water and gas supply systems. And power facilities, of course. As of today, it is hard to predict if there will be schedules of power shutdowns. But we are looking at various scenarios. First of all, we will be ensuring power supply to the social facilities,” – said head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA Serhii Lysak.
DTEK energy workers, in their turn, are preparing the grids in the Dnipropetrovsk region for winter. They have upgraded 172 power facilities of various voltage class in Dnipro and the region, repaired and replaced almost 1,580 km of power lines and cleared another 2,600 lines from shrubs. The current state of the distribution grid allows to provide all customers with stable power supply, providing there will be no new enemy attacks on the energy system of the country.
“DTEK Dnipro Grids is a foundation and support for normal life of the region and our customers. We engage all available internal resources to pass the next winter. Moreover, we have created a backup emergency stock and formed more than 150 crews that are ready to restore power supply after emergencies 24/7. We are working to protect our key facilities as much as possible. Energy workers are ready to promptly restore power supply and provide electricity to all residents of the region,” – summed up Andrii Tereshchuk, CEO at DTEK Dnipro Grids.
By the end of the year, Distribution System Operator will upgrade another 137 power facilities, repair 970 kilometers of lines and clear 500 kilometers of the overhead routes along power lines from the shrubs.
In the event of crisis situations and during the peak load hours, the company will additionally engage up to 74 contact center operators. For customer convenience, the DSO has improved service channels and increased number of the telephone lines up to 200.
