Despite shelling, DTEK has restored electricity to more than 20,000 households in the Donetsk region

Over the course of a day, specialists of the energy company were able to completely or partially restore electricity to 17 settlements, thus restoring power to 20,690 families in Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, Volnovakha and Pokrovsk districts.

Most of the customers who had electricity restored to them on August 1 were left without it due to hostilities yesterday or the day before. For example, energy workers managed to restore electricity to almost 10,000 families of Toretsk community. Specialists of the energy company are working almost every day to repair grids in this community that is being de-energized day after day due to proximity of the buffer zone and massive shelling. The situation is similar in the Bakhmut community, where energy workers managed to restore electricity to 9,300 households. Besides, yesterday DTEK Donetsk Grids employees managed to repair equipment in Kostiantynivka, Sloviansk, Selydove and Velyka Novosilka communities.

Hostilities are underway in the Donetsk region. Constant shelling destroys the grids and causes shutdown of energy enterprises. 342 settlements in the Donetsk region remain without electricity. The most difficult directions are Sloviansk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Toretsk and Bakhmut. Energy workers have to wait for a permit from the Armed Forces of Ukraine to commence repairs.

DTEK Donetsk Grids specialists are working non-stop for 160 days in a row and are repairing equipment and lines again and again, as soon as it becomes possible.
