Light despite the attacks: DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers restored power supply to 346,000 families in Februar
In February, energy workers of DTEK Dnipro Grids restored power to 346,352 families, whose homes were de-energized due to the attacks. Last week alone, electricity was restored to almost 43,000 homes.
Specialists conduct work under constant threat. Thus, one of the energy workers was wounded last Tuesday during performance of restoration activities in the frontline town. Earlier, on February 7, two FPV drones attacked an emergency crew – service vehicle has burnt to the ground. And on February 11, energy workers came under repeated attack of the “Shahed” strike drones when repairing the damaged lines. Fortunately, no employees were hurt then: they managed to leave the hazardous zone in time. While two service vehicles were damaged by the fragments.
“Despite danger and constant threats, our energy workers are providing electricity to the people and are doing everything to maintain light in their homes. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, we have already restored power supply to more than 9 mln households in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Due to the regular strikes, electricity has been restored to some customers on dozens of occasions,” ‒ noted DTEK Dnipro Grids CEO Andrii Tereshchuk.
Work in the frontline districts is complicated due to constant threat of repeated attacks and limited access to the sites of damage. Nevertheless, energy workers are doing everything possible to eliminate damage as soon as possible. They commence work immediately after obtaining permission and access to the site from the AFU and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
