Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, company’s specialists restored electricity to more than 3 mln Ukrainians. Often — on multiple occasions, as the same lines have to be repaired again and again due to repeated damage. Every field trip means working in the conditions of increased danger, after obtaining permission from the military and SES, knowing that the threat can recur at any moment.

Over the course of four years, more than 224 mln hryvnias were directed at repairing damaged equipment alone.

For four years in a row, our energy workers have been maintaining the light in the Kyiv region. Despite constant attacks and repeated destruction, they repair lines and substations again and again to provide power supply to the homes of the region’s residents, hospitals, schools and enterprises. Nearly 200 crews are working daily in the region. They promptly respond to damages and maintain operation of the grids. Resilience of the Kyiv region’s energy system is, first of all, the resilience of our people: their professionalism, tenacity and readiness to work to provide electricity to every home,” — noted DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids CEO Vitalii Shaida.

During the full-scale war, one energy worker of the company was killed while performing his professional duties, another 8 employees were wounded.

Four years of the great war proved: energy infrastructure can be targeted, but its resilience is determined by the people. The light stays on thanks to the energy workers.
