In 2022, despite difficult situation in the country, DTEK Odesa Grids continues to support talented youth. The company provides students with opportunities for vocational training, employment and decent salary in compliance with Sustainable Development Goal of the UN Global Compact No. 8 – “Decent work and economic development”.

During 2021/22 academic year, DTEK Odesa Grids has selected 20 students from five educational institutions to take the dual education program. These institutions are Odesa Polytechnic National University, Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies, Odesa College of Computer Technology of the Odesa State Environmental University, Izmail Agrotechnical College and Odesa College of Oil and Gas Technologies.

“DTEK is a reliable and responsible company. Our dual education project helps senior students of specialized specialties to combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills in actual workplace environment and situations. Following the completion of training, the most talented received an offer of permanent employment. Thus, out of 20 dual students in 2021/2022 academic year 9 students became employees of DTEK Odesa Grids,” – notes the company.

Dual students are studying under an individual program, 40% of which is theory, while 60% is practice directly at the enterprise. The company provides students with salary and full social package (medical insurance, vacation, sick leaves, etc.).

“Dual education is an excellent opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills under guidance of experienced mentors. During training at the enterprise, my fellow students and I have studied labor safety and rules for the operation of electrical protective equipment. Now I already have a second electrical safety group and I can work with special equipment,” – says Mykyta Zibarov, a distribution grids electrician at the Central Distribution Zone.

For the period of study, all students sign a three-way contracts for dual education, as well as fixed-term employment contracts. They get official monthly salary and they are entitled to a social package for the employees of the company.

In order to participate in the DTEK Odesa Grids dual education program in the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year, a student should be educating in a specialty related to power engineering, attending 2-4 year at one of the specialized educational institutions that concluded an agreement with the company, fill in the form and qualify.
