Power supply restored: DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers restored electricity to 161,000 homes after the hurricane
Stormy wind that started on Sunday afternoon caused large-scale falling of trees and multiple broken power lines throughout the region, leaving more than 161,000 homes without electricity.
Energy workers commenced restoration activities immediately. Over 70 crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids worked 24/7 to restore power supply as soon as possible. By Tuesday morning, electricity was restored to most of the families. It took longer to complete work in the districts, where work is complicated by constant shelling. Vasylkivka, Nikopol and Apostolove in particular. Work was carried out based on the security situation. Electricity has now been restored to all residents of the region.
In total, operation of almost 3,000 transformer substations and 200 power lines has been restored, thus restoring power supply in 465 settlements that were completely or partially de-energized.
Additionally, restoration activities after the attacks are ongoing, On April 27 and 28, DTEK Dnipro Grids specialists restored power to homes of more than 20,000 families in 22 towns and villages of the region after the latest strikes.
Emergency crews commence work immediately after obtaining permission from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service.
