High level of fire hazard in the Kyiv region: DTEK reminds safety rules near power equipment

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on June 9-10 there will be an extremely high level of fire hazard in northern and eastern districts of the Kyiv region. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids specialists urge residents of the region to be extremely careful: not to start fire or burn deadwood, and to follow safety rules near power equipment.
High level of fire hazard in the Kyiv region: DTEK reminds safety rules near power equipment

Dry and windy weather significantly increases the risk of fires. DTEK is a foundation and support for normal life of the country and our customers. DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids asks residents of the region to be extremely careful and cautious. Refrain from starting a fire under power lines and do not interfere with the operation of power equipment. Beyond the risk to health and life, it may cause large-scale fires, damage on the grids and shutdown of entire settlements and enterprises.

Key electrical safety rules:

  • it is strictly forbidden to start a fire, burn deadwood, leave flammable materials, and put garbage near power lines and transformer substations;
  • avoid staying near power lines during strong wind. If you discover a broken wire, please stay 8-12 meters away;
  • do not approach switchboards, transformers, and other power equipment, and do not try to interfere with their operation;
  • in case of a power outage, do not try to perform repair by yourself. If a power outage occurred in an apartment or house – call an electrician, servicing your house. If there is a power outage in the entire street – contact DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids specialists;
  • if you discovered broken or sagging wires, open doors and hatches of the power installations, please do not approach them and inform the company;

Information about causes of power outage and terms of its restoration is available via Viber and Telegram chatbot (enter “DTEK Kyiv Regional Grids” in the search bar).
