For the third day in a row, DTEK Dnipro Grids energy workers are working in a high alert mode to eliminate emergencies, caused by bad weather. Bad weather in the Dnipropetrovsk region continues, causing new emergencies on the grids. The most difficult situation is in Kryvyi Rih, Sofiivka and Nikopol districts. Icing of wires, falling of tree branches and strong wind caused serious damages on the lines. The entire spans of power lines were broken; 150 poles collapsed.

89 crews of DTEK Dnipro Grids are working on restorations 24/7. Two contracting organizations have also been engaged in the works, helping eliminate consequences of severe weather. Replacing steel anchor poles of the high-voltage lines, in particular. Elimination of damages is complicated by a thick layer of ice on equipment of electrical substations, which does not allow disconnecting high-voltage disconnectors to take the lines out of service for repair. The crews melt ice to free equipment of it, though it takes a lot of time and effort.

Yesterday, emergency crews managed to restore operation of 36 power lines and 320 transformer substations. Electricity has been restored to homes of 8,500 families in the region. Over the course of three days, power has been restored to a total of 61,000 homes in 329 settlements of the region, completely or partially de-energized.

As of the morning of January 11, 23,800 homes in 129 settlements remain without electricity.

Recovery efforts are ongoing and will last until electricity is restored to all customers.

Reminder: adverse weather conditions may cause falling of trees and broken wires. Please be careful, follow safety rules and do not approach the power lines.

In case of a power outage, please inform us about it in any convenient way:

We are working 24/7 to ensure reliable power supply of houses and enterprises.
